This article considers the question: Is media usage and/or ownership by Austrian school children influenced by gender? The statistics it reports clearly demonstrate that media usage and possession is gender specific. The article also highlights which kinds of media are gendered. The findings come from a survey questionnaire completed by approximately 1500 pupils attending secondary schools within Upper Austria.
