Abstract

The reason why Chinese animation has been identified with the fame of a Chinese School lies in its distinguishing characteristics. Chinese animation attained its typical characteristics in the second half of 1950s, and maintained these for the following three decades. These characteristics can be classified into two sections: those concerning an aesthetic dimension and its educational value concerning function dimension.
