After Asian Cinema published Erik Barnouw's essay about the writing of his book on Indian cinema, he offered us this unpublished manuscript on Sir Run Run Shaw. He included the attached 1979 letter he wrote to the editor of American Film which had rejected this manuscript. He was more than willing to let us print it also. - Editor.
