Abstract:

It is with great pleasure that I write this update on ACSS'99 which has now been officially endorsed as a Key Event for the University of New South Wales' 50th anniversary celebrations! The past few months have been hectic with funding applications and website preparations, guests of honor invitations, media liaison, community involvement, accommodation negotiations, catering decisions and so much more. The focus of "Fragments and Recollections: A Close up of 20th century Cinema" will be Vietnamese cinema. It is envisaged that "Fragments and Recollections" will kick off with an exhibition of old filming equipment from Vietnam.
