Abstract:A new approach concerning improvement of wear resistance of metallic structural materials, by the appropriate method of crystallization of melts, prepared of powder eutectic iron‐based compositions (a Fe‐Nn‐C‐B system) is proposed in the paper. Development of powder materials is based on the content of one or more elements in mixture, that form eutectic with strengthening metal (in our case it is C or B) as well as fusible metals with Tmelt • ≤ Teut (f.ex.Fe, Mn). Eutectic wear resistant powder coating is applied by overlaying and centrifugal bimetallization using heating by high frequency current (HPC), spraying by gas‐thermal equipment (plasma, flame, impulse‐plasma and some other methods of spraying) and also by electric‐spark alloying using eutectic alloy electrodes. Surface layers can be applied on the steel and iron pieces. Application of powder materials alloys to obtain surface layers with eutectic amorphous and microcrystalline structures. Export supplies of powders or equipment for flame, plasma and impulse‐plasma ("Impulse 14" equipment) application of surface layers, electric‐spark alloying ("Electron" equipment), centrifugal bimetallization as well as technical data on the technological process of application of eutectic coatings on the plane specimens HFC heating are provided.
