Abstract:

To integrate the environment in product design is not a recent idea. However, in spite of all the declarations made in this domain, it remains difficult to know and to evaluate the environmental qualities of a product, and therefore to know a fortiori if a particular product is better than another one. Without separating the question of the adequacy of available resources from the problems to be solved, we rely on the contribution of knowledge management to environmental integration to allow the product designers to better understand this new domain (i.e. the interface between the environment, product design and knowledge management). This paper proposes a learning piloting tool, specifies a development scheme, and describes its use with the help of examples.
