Typification of Linnaean names in Malvaceae for the Italian flora

Abstract:

The typification of the six Linnaean names Gossypium hirsutum, Hibiscus pentacarpos, H. trionum, Lavatera lusitanica, L. micans and Malva crispa var. verticillata is discussed. The names are lectotypified using specimens from Clifford, Linnaeus and Van Royen Herbaria and illustrations from Zannichelli and Morison.
