Abstract:

During the elaboration of a treatment of Rosaceae for the Flora of the Venezuelan Guayana, a new species of Prunus L. (P. lichoana Aymard), closely related to P. recurviflora Koehne, was discovered. A search for type material of P. recurviflora to assist in the interpretation of this new species was unsuccessful; therefore a neotype is designated for P. recurviflora, a species previously described from Colombia.
