Abstract:
Segmental box girder superstructures are common nowadays for construction of long elevated structures over busy roads or other obstacles. This construction method minimises the amount of formwork needed during construction and reduces the assembly time. The Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway is an example of such a structure. Keywords: Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (Malaysia); Segmental box girder superstructures; Elevated highways; Self-launching erection gantries; Precast concrete segments
