Dynamic Analysis of the International Guadiana Bridge
Abstract:The importance of the International Guadiana Bridge, its location in the worst seismic zone in Portugal and its complex foundation conditions imposed the need for a detailed seismic analysis, including a soil-structure model and analysis of the spatial variability of the seismic action along its foundations. After completion of the bridge, several dynamic tests were performed on the structure to assess its dynamic behaviour. Conclusions were obtained about the characteristics of the bridge's dynamic behaviour, main vibration modes and about the vibration interaction between the structure and its cables.
