Abstract:
Abnormal iris transluminance is a key ocular symptom of extracranial cerebrovascular disease in blue eyes. The dark-colored irides of 24 patients who had experienced transient ischemic attacks (TIA) and 24 healthy control subjects were evaluated for the presence of iris transluminance and pseudoexfoliation syndrome. Abnormal iris transluminance was detected in neither group. Pseudoexfoliation syndrome was found in 8 eyes (16.6%) of patients with TIA and in 1 control eye (2.1%).Document Type: Miscellaneous
