A new method to monitor mobility of larvae of Elasmopalpus lignosellus (Zeller) in soil by internal radioactive labeling is outlined. 32P was incorporated into a pinto bean diet at 4 ┬ÁCi/g. The movements of larvae fed this diet were detected in simulations of conventional tillage and no-tillage for 7 days.
