Of 44 animal systemic insecticides and 4 juvenile hormone analogues administered orally or dermally to cattle for control of cattle grubs, Hypoderma spp., only the following afforded 90% control: Bay 85950(g1yoxylonitrile p-hydroxyphenyl isopropyl mercaptal O, O-dimethyl phosphorothioate) at 10 mg/kg orally and as an 0.25% spray; CIBA C-18244 (O-(2, 5-dichloro-4-iodophenyl) O-ethyl ethylphosphonothioate) at 50 mg/kg orally; Esso EH-2431 (S-[2-(ethylthio)propyl]O, O-dimethyl phosphorodithoiate) at 10 mg/kg orally; Hercules 18676 (p-tert-butylphenyl (Mercaptoacetyl)methylcarbamate S-ester with O, O-dimethyl phosphorodithioate) at 100 mg/kg orally; Plant Protection, Ltd., PP-156 (1, 4-dithiepan-6-one N-[(methylcarbamoyl) oxyloxime) as an 0.25% spray; and Stauffer R-15201 (O, O-diethyl phosphorothioate O-ester with 4′-hydroxy-2′-methylocetophenone oxime N-acetate) as a 10 and 20% pouron (100 ml/animal).
