Abstract:Control of Frankliniella fusca (Hinds), on 'Florigiant' cultivar of the large-seeded, Virginia-type peanut did not result in yield or value increases. There was a trend for increased' yields from the nematicidal effects of DBCP, l.2-dihromo-3-chloropropane, and prophos, O-ethyl S,S- dipropyl phosphorodithioate. Yields and values from the insecticidal-nematicidal treatments were not better than from the nematicides alone. while treatments for thrips control (without nematicidal effects) tended to reduce yields and value. Comhinations of carbofuran al 1.0 lb active ingredient per acre with DBCP at 8.0 lb AI/acre, or prophos at 4.0 lb AI/acre were highly effective in reducing populations of northern rootknot nematodes, Meloidogyne hapla Chitwood.
