Details are presented on the materials, methods, and results of rearing Ennomos subsignarius (Hübner) on leaves from northern red oak and pignut hickory. Spanworms completely reared on diets of tender juvenile leaves had greater survival from hatch to adult and greater egg production than did those reared on normally developing leaves.
