The egg parasite Anaphes flavipes (Foerster) completed normal development of the F1 generation in cereal leaf beetle, Oilema melanopus (L.), eggs sterilized with 3000 to 5000 R of X-radiation. The F2 generation completed normal development in nonirradiatecl eggs. Inundative releases of A. flavipes for control of the cereal leaf beetle arc deemed impractical. The addition of sterile eggs in the field to provide additional resources for early-season buildup of A. flavipes is of unknown value.
