Resistance to Telodrin in the German Cockroach, Blattella germanica1

Abstract:Four strains of the German cockroach have been exposed to Telodrin® (1,3,4,5,6,7,R,8-oetachloro-1,3,3a, 4, 7, 7a-hexahydro- 4, 7-methanoisobenzofuran) to determine if cross resistance to this material exists. The insects were exposed to the toxicant under standard conditions by a dipping technique. It has been shown that strains possessing resistance to DDT and/or the cyclodiene insecticides have cross resistance to Telodrin. In two strains the level of cross resistance was 100-fold or greater at LC50..
