Abstract:Poison bait sprays of malathion and Staley's insecticide bait no. 7 did not give satisfactory control of the apple maggot, Rhagoletis pomonellia (Walsh), although the percentage of injured fruit was less in 1961and 1962 than in previous years. The reduction in injury varied from 4 to 50% in 1961 and from 1 to 25% in 1962. The protective period of each application was approximately 1 week.
