Abstract:

The Department for Work and Pensions Occupational Psychology Division commissioned the authors to update and upgrade AbilityMatch for the specific use of its Work Psychologists. This required a review of the existing questions and the addition of 25 new questions to this computer-based tool intended to compare the abilities of people with the activity requirements of jobs. To give access to the Work Psychologists throughout the UK it was also necessary to develop an internet-based version of the AbilityMatch instrument, which was previously only available in CD form. This change in media format also required interface issues to be addressed. This paper describes the process and purposes of making this improvement.
