Abstract:

The Designing Work Solutions National Working Group is a reference group within the Department of Work and Pensions. Membership of the group comprises Jobcentre Plus Work Psychologists representing nine regions and an ergonomics consultant. The aim of the group is to facilitate the development of skills and knowledge in work solutions, and to promote ergonomics within the Work Psychology Service. The group has an agreed operating framework that sets out priorities and guidance for the group. This article outlines terms of reference for the group, the achievements the group has made towards these since its formation in 2005, and priorities for the future to act as a suggested guide for other internal working groups to increase their level of contribution to their business units.
