When empiricism and theory meet

Abstract:

This article looks back on a personal journey charting the experiences of helping people find and keep work. It reflects a series of linkages that the author, whilst no expert in the theories identified, believes are not unreasonable to draw. It shows how theory and action research have met to support the development of a practical tool that can be used by employment advisers to support their activities and interviews with customers.
