It has been assumed that by modifying the radiating surface shape in a special way obtaining a more coherent acoustic radiation is possible [1, 2]. The phase shift for surface velocity distribution of considered sources has been achieved by an analytical approach. The formulas derived allow to examine such a 'phase correction' effect on directivity of the following acoustic sources: 1. a piston with velocity distribution selected on the basis of previous investigation [3], which gives high directivity radiation, 2. a free vibrating plate clamped at the edge. It has been found that the 'correction' of the vibration velocity phase improves radiation directivity significantly.", }
