Abstract:
Densities and ultrasonic velocities of aqueous solutions of L-Alanine and L-Serine over a wide range of concentrations (0.12 to 1.5 m) and temperatures (15 to 50 °C) have been measured. These data have been used for the calculation of various parameters like adiabatic compressibility (β), intermolecular free length (Lf), apparent molal volume (Øν), apparent molal compressibility (Øk(s)), molar sound velocity (R), molar adiabatic compressibility (W) and hydration number (nH). All these parameters are found to be temperature and concentration dependent. Our experimental results of Øoν and Øok(s) are in agreement with those reported by Millero and others. Document Type: Research article
