Post-masking patterns of 300 Hz wideband of noise centred at 8 kHz with 50 dB SPL, of a pure tone at 8.75 kHz with 70 dB SPL and of a combination of noise plus tone are determined at delay-times of 0 to 100 ms. Patterns for tone plus noise resemble patterns for the tone alone. In a region around 8 kHz the combination of tone plus noise elicits considerable lower (15 dB) post-masked thresholds than the noise alone.

Zusammenfassung

Es werden Nachhörschwellen-Tonheits-Zeitmuster für folgende Maskierer gemessen : ein 300 Hz breites Schmalbandrauschen bei 8 kHz mit 50 dB Schallpegel, ein Sinuston bei 8,75 kHz mit 70 dB Schallpegel sowie für die Kombination aus Schmalbandrauschen plus Sinuston. Die Muster für die Kombination beider Maskierer ähneln stark den Mustern für den Sinuston alleine. Im Gebiet um 8 kHz erzeugt die Kombination deutlich (15 dB) niedrigere Nachhörschwellen als das Schmalbandrauschen alleine.

On a mesuré les profils temporels en bande critique pour les seuils de masquage après terminaison du masque avec les trois masqueurs suivants: a) un bruit à bande étroite d'une largeur de 300 Hz, centré sur 8 kHz et d'un niveau de 50 dB; b) un train d'onde sinusoïdale à 8,75 kHz au niveau de 70 dB; c) la combinaison du masqueur a) avec le masqueur b). Les profils temporels observés pour la combinaison c) ressemblent beaucoup à ceux du masqueur sinusoïdal b) utilisé seul. Dans le domaine de fréquences entourant 8 kHz, la combinaison c) entraîne des seuils de postmasquage remarquablement plus bas (15 dB) que le bruit à bande étroits a) utilisé seul.
