Abstract:

This paper gives the description of an apparatus designed for the determination, by a pulse method, of the velocity and damping coefficient of longitudinal ultrasonic waves in solid and molten polymers. Measurements have been carried out for a low density polyethylene, in the temperature range of 20°C to 200 °C, at a frequency of 11.5 MHz.

On décrit un dispositif permettant de déterminer par une méthode d'impulsions la vitesse de propagation et le coefficient d'atténuation d'ondes ultrasonores longitudinales dans des polymères solides et à l'état fondu. Les mesures ont été réalisées sur un polyethylene basse densité à une fréquence de 11,5 MHz et à des températures variant entre 20 °C et 200 °C.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird eine Anordnung beschrieben, mit der unter Anwendung einer Impulsmethode Ausbreitungsgeschwindigkeit und Absorptionskoeffizient longitudinaler Ultraschallwellen in festen und geschmolzenen Polymeren bestimmt werden können. Die Messungen wurden an Polyäthylen geringer Dichte bei einer Frequenz von 11,5 MHz und bei Temperaturen zwischen 20 °C und 200°C durchgeführt.
