On a New Representation of Aeroacoustic Source Distribution II. Two-dimensional Model Flows

The mechanisms of sound generation by the interaction of a stationary potential flow and a superimposed distribution of vortices with (i) a half-infinitely extended solid plate (trailing edge noise) and (ii) a cylinder perpendicular to the flow direction are investigated by means of a new linear integral representation of aeroacoustic sound fields. A substantial advantage of this method consists in the linear dependence of its integrand upon the time derivative of the vorticity fluctuations in the hydrodynamic near field.


Die Schallerzeugung durch die Wechselwirkung einer stationären Potentialströmung mit überlagerter Wirbel verteilung und einer halbunendlich ausgedehnten Platte (Hinterkanten-lärm) bzw. einem quer zur Strömung liegenden Zylinder wird mit Hilfe einer linearen Integral-darstellung für strömungsakustische Schallfelder untersucht. Der Vorteil dieser neuen Methode liegt darin, daß der Integrand dieser Darstellung nur linear von der Zeitableitung der Wirbelverteilung im hydrodynamischen Nahfeld abhängt.


On applique une représentation nouvelle, linéaire et intégrale, des champs de sources aéroacoustiques à l'analyse des mécanismes de la génération sonore par interaction d'un écoulement composite (superposition d'un écoulement stationnaire à potentiel et d'une distribution de tourbillons) avec 1°) une plaque solide semi-infinie (entraînant des sons de bord) ou 2°) un cylindre d'axe perpendiculaire à la direction de l'écoulement. Un avantage important de la méthode réside dans la linéarité de la relation entre 1'integrand et la dérivée temporelle des fluctuations de turbulence dans le champ hydrodynamique proche.
