Abstract:

The root bark of Solanum aculeastrum Dunal yielded a new steroidal alkaloid glycoside characterised as (25R)-3beta-{O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1rarr2)-[O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1rarr4)-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1rarr4)]-beta-D-glucopyranosyl}-22alpha-N-spirosol-5-ene. The structure was established by spectroscopic analysis and comparison with published data of similar compounds reported in literature.

Keywords: SOLANUM ACULEASTRUM DUNAL; (25R)-3BETA-{O-ALPHA-L-RHAMNOPYRANOSYL-(1 2)-[O-BETA-D-GLUCOPYRANOSYL-(1 4)[O-ALPHA-L-RHAMNOPYRANOSYL-(1 4)[-BETA-D-GLUCOPYRANOSYL]-22ALPHA-N-SPIROSOL-5-ENE
