Effect of Calcination Temperature on Morphology and Properties of White Long-lasting Phosphor Y2O2S:Tb3+, Sr2+, Zr4+
Abstract:The white-light long-lasting phosphor of Y2O2S:Tb3+, Sr2+, Zr4+ was prepared by a solid state reaction method. The effect of calcination temperature on the phase, surface morphology and luminescent properties of the samples was investigated. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope, fluorescence spectrophotometer, illuminometer and thermally stimulated spectrometer, respectively. The results show that the samples are composed of Y2O2S and Y2O3 phases, in which Y2O3 is a major phase at the calcination temperature of 950 . The pure Y2O2S phase was obtained at 1 000 and 1 050 . Y2O3 phase appeared at > 1 050 . The position and shape of Tb3+ emission peaks under the 288 nm excitation appeared similar for all the samples. The blue light emission at 417 nm and the yellowish-green light emission at 544 nm originated from the 5D3→7F5 and the 5D4→7F5 transitions of Tb3+, respectively. The trap depth was 0.64 eV and the decay time was 160 s (≥1 mcd/m2) for the sample synthesized at 1 000 .
