Abstract:

This paper reports on work in progress to develop a questionnaire to identify the factors which may distinguish the general business population's performance from that of high-growth medium-sized enterprises. The study found that there were differences between the two groups in the areas of leadership; purpose of strategic planning; planning horizon; the areas benefiting from the planning process; components; and strategic objective measurements.
