Tertiary teaching excellence: The CETLs scheme in England
This article describes the establishment of Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETLs) by the Higher Education Funding Council in England. It outlines this approach to enhancing effective university teaching and learning and discusses four CETLs that are closely related to university geography departments and dedicated to the themes of active learning, spatial literacy, experiential learning and education for sustainable development.
