Abstract:
Bowel obstruction is a recognised complication in pregnancy, especially in those with adhesions from previous surgery. We report a case where the use of an elemental diet was successful in avoiding surgery in a pregnant patient with recurrent conservatively managed small bowel obstruction.Keywords: bowel obstruction; elemental diet; nutrition; pregnancy
