Low Loss, High Tunability of Ba0.4Sr0.6TiO3–Mg3B2O6 Microwave Composite Ceramics

Phase structure, microstructure, and microwave dielectric properties of Ba0.4Sr0.6TiO3–Mg3B2O6 composite ceramics fabricated by solid-state reaction were investigated. The results show that the composite ceramics sintered at only 1100°C exhibited promising microwave properties. The dielectric constant can be adjusted in the range from 326 to 90, while maintaining a relatively high tunability from 21% to 11% under a direct current electric field of 60 kV/cm and Q values more than 200 in the gigahertz frequency region.
