New Onset Migraine With Aura Following Head Injury: A Case Report

Abstract:
A patient is described who developed recurrent headaches following a traumatic injury in the vicinity of the right greater occipital nerve (GON) that fulfill IHS criteria for migraine with aura. Both aura and headache can be triggered by pressure over the GON and relieved by local anesthetic blockade.Keywords: migraine aura; migraine pathophysiology; greater occipital nerve; head injury; trigeminocervical complex
