Both clinicians and dermatopathologists must be aware of the various factors which can influence the histopathologic appearance of melanocytic nevi in order to avoid mistaken diagnoses.

Die zahlreichen Faktoren, die das morphologische Erscheinungsbild von melanozytären Nävi beeinflussen können, müssen gleichermaßen den klinisch-praktisch tätigen Dermatologen zur Indikationsstellung und Befundinterpretation wie auch dem Histopathologen bekannt sein, um eine Fehlinterpretation der Dignität von melanozytären Nävi zu vermeiden.
