Abstract:Gravitational microlensing data suggest our galaxy may be awash with nomad planets, wandering in space far from host stars. Researchers at the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology estimate there may be up to 100 000 such planets in the Milky Way alone – and they may hold life.
