Abstract:

Huge bubble-shaped structures emitting gamma rays have been found around the centre of our galaxy, as a result of analysis of publically available data from NASA's Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope. The bubbles cover around half the visible sky and their nature and origin are unknown.
