Abstract:

The discovery of the most massive stellar-mass black hole yet found – 16 solar masses – has been swiftly followed by the discovery of an even bigger one: somewhere between 24 and 33 times the mass of the Sun. And more similar objects are liekly to be found, from the early history of the Milky Way.
