Abstract:

This review essay constructs a comparison among three scholars who think about religion and comparison: Jonathan Z. Smith, Francis X. Clooney and Robert A. Orsi. It employs Smith's rules for comparison in the study of religion by recalling his essays on Judaism and suggesting that we might also want to “Take Catholicism, For Example.” It is intended to express the author's deep gratitude to Smith for making the study of religion pretty interesting.
