Abstract:
In summary, this essay explores the similarities between the works of Manuel Puig and Severo Sarduy, and primary and secondary medieval "works." Ultimately, the argument seeks to reevaluate the supposed "pre-modern age" and establish points of contact between medieval and post-modern aesthetics. We must consider the events and philosophies, inspired by similar crises, that helped to establish "traditional" medieval and Latin American studies and writing.
