Abstract:

A new species of parasitic copepods, Sabellacherer aenigmatopygus, belonging to the family Gastrodelphyidae, is described. It was found fixed to the branchial crown of Potamilla reniformis (Polychaeta, Sabellidae) near Tuléar on the west coast of Madagascar. The male genital segment has ventral chitinous formations which are very peculiar.
