Abstract:

Octolasmis stella a été décrite par Annandale (1909), comme une espèce nouvelle et rare, des branchies d'Homola megalops, capturé à une profondeur de 188 à 419 brasses dans la Baie de Bengale. Cette note traite d'une nouvelle capture de l'espèce sur les branchies de Puerulus sewelli à une profondeur de 300 mètres environ dans la Mer d'Arabie, au large de la côte de Kerala, et complète la description originale d'Annandale, avec davantage de détails et d'illustrations. La question de l'inclusion d'O. stella dans une espèce cosmopolite d'eau profonde, proposée par Newman (1961), a été examinée.
