Abstract:

Obituary of French Renaissance scholar Dudley Wilson (1923–95), who spent most of his career at the University of Durham. The dominant concern of the latter part of his career was the relationship between science and poetry in the second half of the 16th century in France; he was particularly interested in monstrous births and related matters. He also retained an interest in bibliography and was fascinated by the processes of preindustrial book production.
