Abstract:

Analyzes the form and meaning of Fronton du Duc's drama Histoire Tragique de la Pucelle, which was conceived as an entertainment in the vernacular for the visit of Henry III and Queen Louise to the Jesuit University of Pont-à-Mousson, where Fronton du Duc (1559–1624) was a professor in 1580.
