Affiliations: Simon Blackburn is Fellow and Tutor in Philosophy at Pembroke College, Oxford, and has held visiting appointments at Melbourne and the University of British Columbia. He edited a collection of essays entitled Meaning, Reference, and Necessity, and is the author of Reason and Prediction, and a number of papers on themes connected with meaning and realism. He is currently engaged in writing a book provisionally entitled Understanding Understanding.
