Affiliations: Recently retired from the Department of English at Purdue, Richard Crowder is the author of books on James Whitcomb Riley and Carl Sandburg as well as Wigglesworth. He has published numerous articles on twentieth-century poets (focusing chiefly on Edwin Arlington Robinson). Among other events of his career, he lectured at the Library of Congress under the sponsorship of the Gertrude Clark Whittall Fund and spent two years at the University of Bordeaux as Fulbright lecturer in American poetry.
