Affiliations: 1: Louise Silberling is a post-doctoral associate in the Rockefeller Foundation “Race, Rights, and Resources” programme in Latin American Studies at the University of Texas-Austin. In 2002, she defended her doctorate in Development Sociology at Cornell University. Louise works with “traditional” peoples in Brazilian Amazonia and throughout Brazil, and she has also worked on conservation, development, and funding issues in upstate New York.
