I OFFER special thanks to Barbara Rowefor organizing and editing this topical issue on home-based family business. Often, our attention is captured by the large, mature family firms. However, the much larger numbers of businesses, and the leading edge of social trends, are on the boundary of entrepreneurship and family business. Many of those businesses are-operated out of the owners’ homes. This issue takes advantage of an opportunity to present the findings of the most comprehensive study of home-based enterprise to date.
