Abstract:

In addition to the greater availability of electronic resources, the most notable trends in scholarship over the past decade include continuing study of the means, methods, and varied contexts of composition and transmission within manuscript culture; greater understanding of the complex interrelation of manuscript and print; growing awareness of the importance of women in producing and circulating manuscripts; and the especially vigorous debate over dramatic manuscripts.
