Abstract:
EDITIONS The old-spelling Oxford Edition of Jonson, ed. C. H. Herford and Percy and Evelyn Simpson (1925-52), remains the only scholarly edition of Jonson's complete writings. Stephen Orgel's 1969 edition of The Complete Masques contains modernized, richly annotated texts of the masques. Ian Donaldson's 1975 edition of the Poems and Hugh MacLean's selected Ben Jonson and the Cavalier Poets (1975) offer annotated modern-spelling texts. The Complete Plays of Ben Jonson, 4 vols. (1981-82), ed. G. A. Wilkes, offers modern-spelling texts of the plays based on the Herford and Simpson edition.Document Type: Research article
