The history, ecology, and distribution of Camassia leichtlinii are given and particularly the deep violet cultivar of subsp. suksdorfii‘Lady Eva Price’, which is illustrated. The position of Camassia within the Liliaceae sens. lat. is discussed in the light of recent DNA studies.
